Music, when done right, is one of the greatest gifts to mankind. It soothes the soul, serves as the soundtrack to different moments, and connects us in ways words alone cannot. If one artiste’s music can have that much impact, imagine what happens when two artistes with matching energy come together for a joint project.
This is why, when I finally secure the billions I’ve been manifesting since childhood, the first thing on my bucket list would be funding joint projects between artistes. Not for the charts, not for the streams, but simply because I need to hear them. And maybe, just maybe, if the world is lucky enough, I’ll share them too.
Here’s the list of artistes that would make it to my joint music project wish list:
1. Blaqbonez and Ruger:

This collaboration would be a match made in heaven. Both embody the ultimate anti-love/playboy energy; Blaqbonez with his polygamous beliefs and Ruger with his smooth playboy persona. Their music speaks for itself, so imagine them coming together on a full project.
Picture Blaqbonez rapping on Red Flags or Ruger adding his touch to Back in Uni. This would be an anthem for the anti-love community,a project dripping in premium toxic vibes and player talk.
As for the name, it has to be fitting; “Playboy Chronicles” or “No Strings Attached” sounds just about right.
2. Olamide and CKay:

After blessing us with a few angelic love tunes, Olamide and CKay owe us a joint album at this point. There’s just something about CKay that brings out Olamide’s softer side. Proof? Trumpet and Wahala are effortlessly smooth, soulful jams. A complete project from these two would be nothing short of a masterpiece. Laidback, romantic, and the perfect soundtrack for date nights, late-night drives, or sweet tunes to send to bae. This collaboration isn’t just a want; it’s a need.
3. Portable and Speed Darlington:

Hear me out: this collaboration would be absolute chaos in the best way possible. The raw, unfiltered energy from both of them on a joint project? A certified one-of-one experience. You know they’re bringing pure vibes, unpredictability, and back-to-back quotables.
Beyond the craziness, though, I can already see this project doubling as social commentary, tackling issues like oppression, street struggles, and the hustle mentality in the most unapologetic way possible. And yes, I already have the perfect name: “IDAMU ADUGBO.”
4. Falz and Simi:

Yes, I know they already gave us a joint project, but c’mon, the chemistry can’t just fade like that! Every single time Falz and Simi link up, they create pure magic, effortlessly blending humor, storytelling, and soulful melodies. From Soldier to Foreign to their latest hit Borrow Me Your Baby, they never miss.
But these singles? They’re just not enough. We need another full project, and I know I’m not the only one feeling this way. Falz and Simi, if you’re reading this, do it for the culture!
5. Ayra Starr and Tems:

This collaboration would be nothing short of divine. Two powerhouse vocalists with distinct but equally captivating styles coming together? It’s an instant classic waiting to happen.
Tems, with her soulful depth and emotionally charged delivery, and Ayra Starr, with her fierce, youthful energy and celestial vocals, would create a perfect balance. Whether it’s anthems of self-love, heartbreak, or just straight-up bad bitch energy, they’d give us music that feels both powerful and timeless.
This project wouldn’t just be an album of the moment but for decades!
6. Fireboy and Lojay:

First, these two have individually created some of the most sonically cohesive bodies of work in Afrobeats history. From Fireboy’s stellar quadfecta and Lojay’s masterpieces to the duo’s impressive collaboration on Letting Go, Fireboy and Lojay have shown us that there’s more to where that came from.
Imagine the heartbreak jams Lojay would pen while Fireboy cements it with apology-themed tunes. Or the lover boy medleys the duo would create out of the joint project. We certainly need a blend of MOTO and Need You vibes, and if these two can give us such a joint project, then it’s all over, guys!
7. Asake and Seyi Vibez:

Mr. Money and Loseyi collaborating on a joint project would be one of the greatest projects in Nigerian music. Think about the up-tempo Fuji and Amapiano sound laced with Street-hop elements. That’s going to be sick!
From this joint project, we would be getting Street-hop, Afro-adura, trenches-love, and an overdose of Lamba. I don’t know, guys. I need the money and influence to bring these artistes on a project. Asake once called Seyi Vibez his guy on his Lungu Boy live stream. Who knows if there aren’t any songs in the works already? We need to find a way to bring them together for a joint project.
I may not have the resources to pull this off at the moment. Perhaps you all can crowdfund my joint project wish list. Nigerians UNITE! But before then, what do you think about this list, and who else would you want on a joint music project?
