This week, we feature some of the best music videos that recently caught our attention. Have a look.
Tony Montana – Skepta & Portable
What I loved most about this video? Portable in his element, he was just there having the time of his life and didn’t even seem to care. Everything about this music video seems so appealing to me, from the way everyone was styled, the beauty of the sets used, the clean aesthetics, and the energy everyone in the video exhibited.
Popo-Zerrydl
Are we going back to the era of music videos matching the lyrics of songs and telling a story according to the lyrics of the song? Amen to that. What struck me the most was how clean this video is, and the storytelling tied to it. The video builds on the story from the lyrics of the song about police brutality and the stereotypical profiling faced by youths in Nigeria.
Davido – Na Money
See that French they sprinkled in at the beginning? Had me satttt! This music video reminded me of the movie ‘COMING TO AMERICA’. Everything about this video was preaching wealth, affluence, royalty, and money.
Egwu- Chike & Mohbad
The music itself is soulful but the music video added more depth to the music. In my opinion, I don’t think anyone would have been able to execute this video perfectly except Director Pink. The video has this playful and vibrant energy attached to it. The music video flowed very seamlessly from start to finish and I love the way Mohbad was involved in the sweetest way. “Music no need permission to enter your spirit” —ATE!
Bnxn & Ruger – RMD
A collaboration we were expecting anytime soon? No, But I’m here for it. The scenery displayed in this video is so beautiful. I loved how Ruger was introduced into the video when his verse came on. If Romeo was the one delaying this sweet collaboration, then he really must die haha!
